Our vision for the children of Hood River Vineyard is simple: To love our kids with the love of Jesus!

Our kids are divided into three groups on Sunday mornings: Nursery (babies through 2 yrs), Preschool (age 3&4), and Children's Church (K-6th grade). Nursery is provided through the entire Sunday service.

The older children are released after worship and return at the end of the service. Pastors Jonathan and Ruth Maletz direct a team of over 40 adults working in the various programs. Jonathan organizes and prepares the material for Children's Church and Ruth oversees the Nursery. By rotating volunteers we aim to keep kids ministries fun for both adults and children. For the babies and young children, our main goal is to provide a safe and joyful environment. We are so blessed with volunteers who pour love on these kids. The nursery is often a gathering place for parents to connect up with each other. Lots of ministry beyond child care happens there.

Safe and joyful applies to the older children too, as well as introducing them to the cool truths of God and his Kingdom. Jonathan prepares the basic material leaving the volunteers free to expand and/or adapt them as they feel led. We like kids church to be engaging and easy to teach.

All this can best be summed up by a recent volunteer who exclaimed after their first time helping out: "Wow, that was so much fun, when can I do it again?"
