From the inception of our fellowship, over ten years ago, the leadership team
of VCF Hood River has carried a desire to see the members of the body ministered
to and through on a mid-weekly basis, as well as at each Sunday morning
service.
Meeting in homes scattered throughout the Columbia Gorge region
has provided a time for encouragement, prayer, worship, bearing one another’s
burdens and waiting together before the Lord.
Our church family has embraced
this commitment and as new people come to VCF and “try it on” as a church
home, attending home group is a vital way they can experience fellowship and
the shared pursuit of imitating the life of Christ, VCF-style. Presently, groups
begin meeting in September of each year and go through mid-June. The
New Testament record in Acts and the Epistles of the early Church meeting in
homes to mutually build one another up in “[their] most holy faith” is our simple
and ancient model for this practice.

We invite your to join us in our home as we consider
the challenges and blessings of relationships,
whether they be parent/ child, husband/wife, or
friend to friend. Our home group time will consist
of prayer, study, occasional worship, personal
ministry and fellowship. As we give careful consideration
to scripture and various other helpful
resources we will be looking for kingdom vision
for our relationships as well as every-day practical
applications for deepening and strengthening
them. From amazing grace for raising toddlers to
marital intimacy to thriving friendships, we will
explore ways in which the Lord might want to adjust
our thinking, our hopes, and our habits.

We invite any and all who might want to bring
their lives deeper into the story of Scripture, and
the fellowship of the Body as demonstrated by
sharing concerns with one another, praying for
and encouraging one another and worshipping in
song from time to time. Occasionally we will share
a meal together.
